Can I be upfront with you? Most people do not have kind words or thoughts regarding bill collectors. Even though they play an important role in our economy, nobody grows up dreaming to becpme a bill collector.

What makes matters worse is that most people that enter the debt collection industry think that they are better than the debtors they are collecting from. They are also trained to put people and keep people in their place. So even before the first phone call, there are preconceived ideas that are already set in stone.

So what do you do to not be under the feet of a bill collector? Here are some practical things we can do.

1. Always remember that your current circumstances
do not define who you are. Your current
circumstances can be changed. Even though bill
collectors are taught to dominate and take
advantage of you because of your circumstances,
you don’t have to be taken captive by your
circumstances.

2. Utilize strategies on how you can handle bill
collectors. Yes, how you can put bill collectors
in their place! You can find many of them in my
book Stop the Insanity! (A Guide to Stop Bill
Collectors from Driving You Crazy).
