You can read all kinds of information on the Internet about getting collection accounts
deleted. If you do not understand the motivation from whom the information is coming from,
you can get confused. Once you know the parties involved and what they are trying to accomplish,
it will allow you to understand what is going on. The parties involved are the creditor, collection
firm the debtor and the credit bureaus. To unable you to understand what is going on, I will
speak in general terms instead of absolute ones.
1. In general, creditors report all positive and negative information to the three major credit
bureaus. They have the authority to delete items from a person’s credit reports that make six
different types of disputes. Many of them will tell you that if you are not disputing a item you
can never get it deleted from your credit report. THAT IS A HUGE LIE. I talked to a person today
from Direct TV in which I explained to him five times to (nicely) why he was either ignorant or knew
what I was saying and was just trying to hold the company line. That’s enough for now. I tell you
more next time.
