So your bankruptcy has been approved. You are on top of the world. No more calls from bill collectors. No more threats or thoughts about losing your house. All those medical bills are now gone. You no longer have those financial burdens hanging over your head. You can say good bye to all that credit card debt.
Although you have gone through a credit counseling program, they did not give you all the information you needed to rebuild your credit. If you are really interested in not getting back into debt again you must get real with yourself. Let’s go over an example.
You filed bankruptcy because you didn’t have medical insurance and you ran up $50,000 in debt overnight. Now that it has been wiped out in bankruptcy, are you going to get medical insurance or are you going to gamble that you won’t get sick again? If you don’t deal with the real issues why you filed for bankruptcy, chances are good that in two to four years, you may be in debt again. In Part two we will discuss getting credit about bankruptcy.
